Rick Kubb is an experienced IPTPA Level II Certified Pickleball Teaching Professional based in Cape Coral, Fla. Having discovered Pickleball in 2015 shortly after retiring as a University Administrator in St. Louis, Rick has competed in numerous local, regional and national qualifying tournaments.
Rick enjoys working with players of all ages and skill levels and particularly takes satisfaction in seeing his students advance their pickleball skills. Rick takes pride in personalizing his instruction to each student based on their physical ability and skill level. He is organized and prepares detailed lesson plans (including homework assignments) prior to going on the court.
Rick’s approach to teaching is from the “inside – out” starting at the non-volley zone line with the short game with dinking and volleys, then to the transition zone with resets and drop shots and finally to the baseline for serves, returns, drops and drives. Rick provides constant feedback and positive reinforcement to his students while on the court and follows up with them while off the court.
Rick resides in St. James City, Fla., with his wife Karen and when not on the pickleball court they enjoy fishing, boating, traveling, and spending time with their five grandchildren.
