THE COURTS CAPE CORAL RECEIVES 2026 USTA OUTSTANDING FACILITY AWARD
The Courts Cape Coral is one of 41 Tennis Facilities Nationwide Honored for Excellence
The USTA on Tuesday announced that The Courts Cape Coral in Cape Coral, Fla., is one of 41 winners in the USTA’s annual Outstanding Facility Awards program, which recognizes excellence in the construction and/or renovation of tennis facilities throughout the country. All 41 recipients were honored Monday at an awards reception held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York as part of the 2026 US Open.
The Courts Cape Coral, which was built by the City of Cape Coral and opened in 2024, is managed by Sports Facilities Companies. The Courts Cape Coral features 12 world-class tennis courts along with 32 world-class pickleball courts – making it the premiere multi-use courts complex in Southwest Florida. The Courts Cape Coral was represented in New York by SFC Vice President of Venue Management Adrian Moses and Joe Petrella, Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Cape Coral.

Facilities were judged on the following criteria: overall layout and adaptation to site; excellence of court surface and lights; ease of maintenance; accommodations for players, spectators and press/officials; aesthetics; graphics (including the use of signs and landscaping); amenities such as casual seating for spectators, food services and social areas; and the facilities’ participation in grassroots tennis programs.

Our junior program is one of the most important parts of The Courts, introducing young players to a sport they can enjoy and play for a lifetime. The Courts Cape Coral, a membership-based complex, produces both internal and external tennis and pickleball events, clinics, lessons and leagues throughout the season. The Courts Cape Coral is also the host site for the Professional Pickleball Association’s Cape Coral Open, features the Court Side Café with fresh-made food and smoothies and offers a full-service Pro Shop.
Nominated facilities were voted on in the following categories: Public Courts that are either small tennis centers with 2-11 courts or large tennis centers with 12 or more courts; Private Facilities that offer both USTA and public programming designed to help grow tennis (small: 2-11 courts; large: 12 or more courts); Educational Institutions such as colleges, universities, public and private grade schools, middle schools, or high schools; and Innovation, which recognize facilities that have been particularly innovative when it comes to delivering tennis. All 2026 award winners will receive a wall plaque and an all-weather sign, which can be mounted at the facility.
