Marketing Specialist

A 35-year communications veteran, David Wasson joins The Courts armed with experience in all facets of sports – including stints at various newspapers, radio stations, television networks and much more. A Southwest Florida veteran, David graduated from Cypress Lake High School and began his career at The News-Press in Fort Myers. He added print journalism stops with The Associated Press, The Gainesville Sun, The Palm Beach Post, The TimesDaily in Florence, Ala., and The Tuscaloosa News before transitioning to multimedia publishing.

After working at ESPN in Connecticut for a year, Wasson returned to Southwest Florida to serve as athletic director at his high school alma mater before working at Sun Broadcasting and then as marketing director at Paradise Coast Sports Complex. He has also served as Director of Communications/ Athletics at FGCU, broadcast high school football on the radio for eight seasons, written a national sports column for Saturday Down South and so much more.

With a BA in Communication from the University of Alabama, David is proud to bring his varied experience and knowledge to The Courts!
